John and Catherine Lai, both in their 50s, have 3 children. They are Eisen, 24, Felicia, 20 and Shawn, who is 17.
Catherine’s testimony
Eisen was born with cerebral palsy, but, with God’s constant loving care, he managed to go through the normal school education system despite many obstacles and setback along the way.
We all have the fear of the unknown, and many of us have made blunders and absurdities along the way, which may have caused unhappiness to others. Have you ever wondered - who can help us unlock this entanglement? Though we may sometimes lose our outlook in life and face constant adversities, God’s grace is steadfast and will always see us through. Through Eisen’s living testimony, God shows us He is love, and that, without Him, we are mere mortal beings, struggling in a vast ocean.
Our faith has been strengthened by the fact that, one by one, our family members came to know the Lord as their personal Lord and Saviour. Even my mother in-law, aged 81, who was a staunch non-believer, has trusted in the Lord.
I was baptised in 1996, and am currently serving in the Ladies’ Fellowship Committee till end of this year. I will continue to serve in the outreach ministry for the Beach Road folks, as well as the visitation team.
