The Kwan Family

[From the perspective of the Kwan daughter:]
Introducing….The Kwan Family! There used to be five of us…now there are six, because two [Chung Howe and Dency] are their own family now. So here’s more about the remaining four Kwans.

ppl@bfcWai Khin is a loving and devoted husband and dad in his early fifties. Wai Khin came to know the Lord in 1998, after two years of listening to the Word of God every Sunday. He is a living testimony of Romans 10:17, “So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God?. Wai Khin is now serving as a Sunday School teacher in the Sunday Bible Class, and has also acquired the art of flower arrangement from his wife.

Fong Meng, a busy homemaker and jack-of-all-trades, came to know the Lord in 1976, but only started attending church after Chung Howe was born. She faithfully brought her three children to church every Sunday before Wai Khin came to know the Lord. Her greatest joy was to see her husband saved, after many unceasing prayers with the children for his salvation. Fong Meng is currently a Sunday School teacher and the resident florist. She also teaches in Children’s Church, and conducts Bible Studies for mothers/wives. Her favourite verse is Psalm 37:4 “Delight yourself also in the Lord, and He shall give you the desires of your heart.?

Chiao Chyi committed her life to the Lord at a Youth Camp when she was 14. The verse which impacted her most was Galations 2:20, “I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.? She accepted Christ at a young age and grew up in church but never knew a deeper Christian life until she was a teenager attending BFC. She is currently active in the Children, Youth and Music Ministry, and her prayer is that she will impact young lives for the Lord as a secondary school teacher.

Yann Howe, the youngest in the family, is an NUS undergraduate studying Engineering. He plays the clarinet and fixes up model kits in his spare time. Currently in the music ministry and the Youthie committee, he came to know the Lord in our previous church but only started actively serving and considering God at 15. Now 21, he ponders the (possibly) long life ahead and how to live a life glorifying to God with those years.
